PCS Clinical Supervisor - Surgical Services - FT - DAYS

POSITION SUMMARY
Facilitates day-to-day departmental operations, including staffing and staff performance, patient care flow, patient care quality and satisfaction, and interdisciplinary teamwork.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversees daily operation of department. Collaborates with charge nurses to ensure effective patient care and smooth running of units; problem-solves as needed
Serves as a clinical resource for staff
Assists in developing and approving departmental schedules; assists with ensuring daily staffing needs are met
Periodically rounds with staff and providers, as well as initiating focused rounds when indicated and upon request
Attends/contributes to staff, physician, and organization-wide committees, as appropriate and as requested
Oversees time and attendance of staff, including initiation of appropriate disciplinary action related to punctuality and absences
Assists with selection and manages training of department staff
Establishes, implements, and maintains evidence-based policies and procedures
Continually evaluates staff performance
Participates with manager in rewarding, mentoring, and coaching of staff
Collaborates with manager and/or director in documentation and delivery of formal staff evaluations, including any subsequent performance improvement plans or disciplinary actions
Collaborates with manager and director to develop and implement departmental budgets, including capital and operations
Identifies opportunities for improvement in department related to patient care flow and processes; collaborates with manager to establish performance improvement plans
Gathers data needed to evaluate progress toward established quality/performance improvement goals and plans
Promotes a culture of safety

Minimum Requirements
SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Ability to read, write legibly, and converse effectively in English language

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES/DEGREES

Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Oregon
American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support card, or obtain within 60 days of hire
American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support card or obtain within 6 months of hire
Baccalaureate in Nursing or related field, or currently working to complete program ? preferred
Masters in health related field preferred
EXPERIENCE

Five years recent clinical experience in acute care
Strong background in/knowledge of state and federal healthcare regulations preferred
Five years recent clinical experience in surgical services
CNOR certification preferred

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
