Supervisor- Respiratory Sleep Lab - FT - DAYS

Provides leadership and supervision to the Respiratory and Sleep Lab Departments.

Directly supervises Respiratory and Sleep Lab employees
Provides the manager with input on policies/procedures, operational and capital budgets, staff performance/competency
Oversees orientation of new staff to the departments and existing staff to new procedures and equipment
Assesses learning needs for staff and develops competency measures to meet Respiratory and Sleep Lab standards
Directly supervises Respiratory and Sleep Lab employees
Monitors time and attendance and makes necessary adjustments through the Kronos timekeeping system
Justifies, coordinates and consults with the manager in the selection, hiring, promotion, counseling, performance appraisal, discipline and termination of all departmental personnel
Monitors educational documentation and coordinates with Human Resources department
Monitors internal quality assurance programs
Monitors inventory and ordering process for department
Works collaboratively and fosters communication with other departments
Excels in duties of Registered Respiratory Therapist
Assesses patients with respect to pulmonary function/respiratory status
Provides respiratory treatments and utilizes equipment that supports or improves ventilatory function
Evaluates, records, and reports effectiveness of treatments and patient response
Provides patient education regarding treatment, health, and wellness; evaluates patient/family response to teaching
Collaborates with interdisciplinary patient care team regarding plan of care, with focus on impact of patient's respiratory status on overall condition/progress/health
Develops staff schedule for both departments with manager's approval
Participates on interdisciplinary committees, as assigned

High school graduate, or equivalent (copy of academic degree or transcript will be required upon hire if performing Moderate Complexity Testing)
Licensed as a Respiratory Therapist in the State of Oregon and Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) or must obtain within 60 days of hire date. BLS certification must be obtained by the last day of the month after the 60 day grace period
American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) card or obtain within 6 months of hire
American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support PALS) or Emergency Nurses' Association Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) card or obtain within 1 year of hire
American Academy of Pediatrics Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Provider card or obtain within 1 year of hire

Five years' experience as a respiratory therapist in an acute hospital setting preferred
One or more years of lead or supervisory experience preferred
Experience in teaching adults (1:1 and in groups) preferred

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
