Our Coos Bay, OR Timberlands operations has an opportunity to start your career with Weyerhaeuser as a Choker Setter/Handy Rigger. This opportunity involves setting chokers on Yarder and Swing Yarder systems to yard logs from cutting area to landing.
Key Functions:
Work safely to pull cables from logging landing 50 - 1500 feet down hillsides over, through and around brush and stumps over uneven terrain to remove fallen logs in all types of weather conditions.
Assist rigging slinger, installing, dismantling, and moving systems.
Maneuver 40 - 100 pounds of chokers and blocks frequently.

Requirements
Safety conscious
High school diploma or equivalent
Demonstrated ability to meet the physical demands of the position
Able to walk, stand and work in rough terrain the entire shift
Valid drivers license
Ability to lift/carry up to 40-50 lbs intermittently; this includes reaching/lifting/pulling to attach devices weighing up to 40 lbs to logs, as well as lifting/carrying tools weighing up to approx 40 lbs up/down hills for distances up to 1500 feet
